$1,000,000,000,000: the cost of capping greenhouse gas emissions. The costs of curbing greenhouse gases has been estimated at $1 trillion, spread over the coming generation. But that is less than the cost of the adverse impacts of climate change. The bill is equivalent to a year's output of the economy of Canada, and less than half of the total stock of debt that has been built up by households in the UK.
